Dermot (Simon Rance)
Was once a friend or acquaintance of the Insomniac's, however he crossed the line of friendship by sleeping with Daisy, the Insomniac's one true love. He feels that this is just one of those things and should not constitute the breakdown of their friendship. He is a self-serving egotist who works in media of some description.
His self-belief far exceeds his actual worth.
Daisy (Claire Kinson)
The insomniac's first true love and one of the pre-cursors to his eventual mental decline. She was in love with him, but life became more convoluted and they grew apart or rather she grew apart. Falling into the arms of Dermot, she now regrets her decision and is stuck with a young daughter from Dermot and scrabbling to make ends meet.
Polly (Zoe Lister)
Is a mid-twenties Soho type of girl, she is under the pre-conceived notion that everything she says has meaning. She believes that her fashion sense and tattoos are her personality, her piercings a statement of individuality. She is essentially as shallow as a puddle with soft romantic ideals.
The Insomniac (Sam Kindred)
A man so confused and deluded, his hatred for society has manifested into insomnia. As his sleep deprivation persists he is no longer able to distinguish between fact and reality; his world is slipping into a stream of consciousness. His inner desires to be so much more than he is has created the persona of serial killer in his mind, the only true characters in society that follow their disdain with true conviction. He is in essence a mundane automaton with little achievable worth, a person overlooked at every available opportunity.
He cannot understand his inability to function in society and therefore has chosen to attack it in his mind's eye.

Ramblings of an Insomniac is a wayward non-linear journey into the isolated mind of a man, confused and angered at a fractured society.
We follow his stream of consciousness as he reflects on fragmented moments within his life that have led to his diseased thoughts and actions.
Ramblings of an Insomniac is a six part series of 10 minute episodes entirely shot using DV cameras and lo-fi technology to create the atmosphere of the insomniac's diseased world. Told through a series of vignettes and esoteric diatribes, we view the breakdown of sanity within an individual whose self-belief far exceeds his notion of reality. Taking an approach of story telling via deconstructed narrative more attributed to music; he creates a jigsaw for the viewer to place together, does the sum of his parts equal his whole or is there more than meets the eye.
Writer/Director Jon Harman aims to take the viewer on a journey into a character of deluded morality that begs the question, do we all have the potential for insanity.
Ramblings of an Insomniac is a daring experimental drama, produced by Kaotic Oddchild, utilising a fresh and raw visual style mixed with a strong fractured narrative that will explore an intriguing character.
